Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! I've been a bit busy with uni studies and then holidays so haven't had time to post. Here is an update through photos.

There are many different Christmas Markets in Salzburg and it was fun to visit some of them in December:

My amazing twin sister Rosanna set up a German Advent Calendar in my student flat when she visited at the end of November - a present for each day of December. It was so much fun to open a present every day!

Here are some Christmas decorations in my flat, some where presents from the Advent Calendar and two were koala decorations sent from my friends in Adelaide.

My fellow Australians, Michele and Virginia, and I performed Aussie Jingle Bells in the foyer of the Orff Institute where we are studying. All students were invited to perform a musical item during December. We had lots of fun putting together our Aussie item and the audience thought is was funny!

Another fun event we attend was a Krampus run, traditional to the Salzburg area this is a parade where locals dress up as the Krampus who are is a half goat/half demon character who is supposed to punish children who have misbehaved. It's a fun family event and they make a lot of noise with cow bells and other things!

On Saturday 15th December we started our university holidays (though I still have some homework during to do!). In the first week my partner Neal and I travelled to England, where we met up with some of my relatives and some of us went to see my favourite English folk singer, Kate Rusby perform live in a Christmas concert of English traditional carols. After begin a fan for over 20 years is was very exciting to see her perform live! http://katerusby.com

Neal and my aunt Anne then travelled down to Sidmouth in the south of England to visit my Grandpa. We had some stormy weather!

I was also happy to eat some tasty English food!

Then it was time for Christmas and we travelled back to Salzburg. My sister Rosanna and her partner Marcel and my brother Lowan drove down from Berlin and we all stayed in an apartment in the mountains in the small town of St Gilgen. We had an amazing view and fun Christmas! I bought my Christmas jumper in England, as well as the Christmas pudding and mince pies (plus a few decorations to make it Christmassy).

On our final day in St Gilgen I went on a cable car up the nearby mountain where it was snowing and there were amazing views of all the mountains. I also saw a wolf (from a safe distance away), which I assume was in the wild.

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!
